Feathers Group Fam Trip

Last month, we were kindly offered the opportunity to take a two-day road trip around the North West of England to sample five Hallmark Hotels (Formally Feathers Hotels) courtesy of Michael Hodgkinson, Key Account Director at Hallmark Hotels who now operate 28 hotels throughout the UK. National Account Manager Lesley was first to her car and sped up the M6 for a closer look, with just a little trepidation about her clutch, which was showing distinct signs of giving up. Here’s what she told us about her time there…

Best Western Hallmark Hotel Warrington Fir Grove
This was the first hotel I came to, with easy access off the M6. I absolutely Loved the black and gold décor in the big function room- very Vogue! The co-ordinated banqueting chairs for the all-inclusive Christmas parties were a really nice touch.

Best Western Hallmark Hotel Liverpool Feathers
BW Hallmark Hotel Liverpool Feathers was another treat, it’s central location and secure car parking (although worth bearing in mind it is limited) were ideal. The fantastic quirky-themed bedrooms were stunning, I really loved the use of patterns in all the rooms. The icing on the cake was an upside down Christmas tree in reception!!

Best Western Hallmark Hotel Liverpool Alicia
The third stop on my list overlooked beautiful parkland providing great views and is located not far from the city centre. It has secure parking and a lovely ‘pub feel’ bar. I was treated to lunch there so I can vouch for the excellent food and relaxed atmosphere. The hotel boasts two good Conference rooms and a lovely conservatory restaurant, which would look really special in the evening under the stars.

Best Western Premier Hallmark Hotel Preston Leyland
I thought I had taken a wrong turn here and ended up in Vegas as we were greeted here with our name in lights outside the hotel!! The welcome continued once inside and I was particularly impressed with the great function space for meetings and training rooms.

Best Western Premier Hallmark Hotel Chester The Queen
I was starting to feel a bit travel weary by this point so I was relieved to have an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast. This hotel is just opposite Chester rail station and does have parking. The bedrooms were very comfortable, and dinner was superb. The wow factor for me was the decadent cheese trolley! I was served by friendly staff who were really knowledgeable and passionate about their job. I can also safely say it was the best hotel buffet breakfast I’ve had in a long time. All in all a very pleasurable stay!

Best Western Hallmark Hotel Chester Westminster
My last stop was situated opposite the Hallmark Hotel, The Queen. It is mainly made up of character-filled bedrooms, which are all different shapes and sizes. The versatile and comfortable bar was very inviting too.

If you do visit any of these hotels, you won’t forget them in a hurry, as you’ll be well looked after by the friendly and helpful staff teams, led by the hands-on General Managers. Oh and one last thing, keep an eye out for the quirky statues in the courtyards and gardens, they’ll certainly be a talking point!
