Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Hilton Hotels have both announced plans to update their default house cancel policies following a rise in cancellation rates.
IHG, who owns brands such as Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Hotel Indigo, has moved the majority of its properties on to a 24-hour cancellation policy. Whilst Hilton Hotels who own brands such as Waldorf Astoria, Conrad Hotels, Doubletree, Hilton hotels, Hilton Garden Inns and Hampton by Hilton have updated theirs to 48 hours. The changes are currently being rolled out and will be in force worldwide by the end of September.
The changes have been made to ensure greater consistency for guests and partners when managing their reservations.
So please double check your confirmations for the new cancellation policies when making your bookings.
