The world’s largest hotel is currently being built in Mecca and is set to open next year.
The Abraj Kudia is costing £2.7 billion to build (funded by the Saudi Ministry of Finance) and will have 10,000 rooms over 1.4 million square metres.
The building will boast 70 restaurants, a shopping mall, and a ballroom.
The hotel features 12 towers, all around 45 storeys high, while a total of five floors will be reserved for the Saudi royal family as holiday accommodation.
According to the Independent, the construction will be situated two kilometres from the world’s largest mosque, the Masjid al-Haram, which attracts around five million Muslims every year for the Hajj or Umrah pilgrimages.
