Our Venue Finding Coordinator, Laura Brinkworth went for a weekend to experience the bright lights of Blackpool with Hilton Hotels. Here’s what she had to say about her enjoyable weekend:
When we arrived at the Hilton Blackpool we were greeted by very friendly staff and a very swift check in. The bedroom was located on the 6th floor and had been newly refurbished, which was lovely. The room was clean, modern and the beds were incredibly comfy!
We started our first day on a heritage tram as we travelled down the promenade to Winter Gardens. During the journey our tour guide pointed out the main sights and explained a bit about the history of Blackpool. Winter Gardens was a fantastic venue for any occasion. Whether it be a large banqueting dinner or a small meeting, the Winter Gardens is a very grand and flexible space. We were then given a tour of the Blackpool Tower including their Circus and Ballroom. Whilst there we were treated to a mouth-watering afternoon tea as we watched the local residents dance to the live music. Before dinner we were given a tour of the conference facilities at the Hilton Blackpool. With 11 versatile function rooms, the Hilton Blackpool is the perfect venue for conferences, corporate events, board meetings, social events and weddings. After our delicious 3 course dinner we were taken to Viva Blackpool to watch Viva Vegas. The evening consisted of singing, dancing and lots of laughing! The venue itself was very clean and was kitted out with high tech lighting, visual and sound technology, which made the evening very enjoyable.
As this was my first trip to Blackpool, I found this trip very enjoyable and informative. The city has undergone major refurbishments to create a modern and clean environment, which will certainly erase any pre-conceptions you may have about Blackpool!
