Our Venue Finding Coordinator, Angie Lowes was lucky enough to go and see 3 venues from De Vere Venues, Principal Hayley & Four Pillars, and also enjoy the Aegon Open Tennis finals. Here’s what she had to say about her fantastic weekend:
We arrived at Staverton Park on the Friday evening, for dinner and a show round. The hotel is lovely and very popular. As this was a tennis theme event, pre dinner drinks of Pimms and Fizz were provided to start the ball rolling. They have 61 meeting rooms to suit everyone’s needs, and very good breakout areas. After the show round off to a lovely dinner, and then to continue the tennis theme, a game of tennis on the WII. (That’s if you were brave enough). Having a golf course is also ideal for those that prefer a club to a racket.
Early start on Saturday departing at 7. 30 am to make our way to St Johns Hotel in Solihull for breakfast. St Johns hotel is a venue offering 13 Meeting Rooms. They had an event going on with each table named after a cocktail and the room looked amazing. The hotel is just 10 minutes from Solihull Town centre, so ideal to have a shopping spree as well.
Late morning we travelled to the Orchard Hotel and East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham. The Hotel is very modern and has only been open for 4 years and is very Eco Friendly. The conference centre which is just a few steps away has 21 meeting rooms and can be used for either a small meeting, dinner or completely exclusive. Also ideal for a School Prom which was taking place on the Saturday evening, 007 style and looked amazing.
During the day we had the opportunity to watch the Aegon Open Tennis finals, a great day (weather a bit hit and miss) however we were able to see both Doubles and singles finals.
Great Venue and fantastic hospitality throughout the weekend.
